Metal Recycling

Do Your Part To Help The Environment By RecyclingTurn Your Old Scrap Metal Into Cash!

Metal Recycling

With over 100 years in business, Kimco has become the leader in metals recycling. If you are disposing of scrap metal, whether ferrous or non-ferrous, Kimco will be happy to trade for it at fair market value and handle the materials responsibly.

The Process

The process of recycling metals involves first separating and sorting metal types. From there, the metals move on to processing, which includes crushing large chunks down with compactors and reducing them into smaller pieces by shredding. Then, metals are melted down and compounds are purified using electrolysis. The pure metals can then be used in the fabrication of new parts.

Containers For Bulk Recycling

There are two ways to bring your scrap metal to Kimco. The first method is to bring it in yourself. Our scales will weigh the volume of metals delivered and you can drive away with cash.

For bulk quantities too abundant to manage yourself, we are available to provide containers to haul the mass back to our recycling yard.

How To Tell Them Apart
If you’re not sure how to differentiate ferrous from non-ferrous metals, hold a magnet to the item. Magnets will stick to ferrous metal, but not to non-ferrous.
